Football Game Preview: Dunwoody Wildcats vs. Gainesville Red Elephants

Two dominant backs in Cameron Irastorza and NIGEL NEWKIRK are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After both having extra time off, the Dunwoody Wildcats and the Gainesville Red Elephants will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Things were looking good for Dunwoody after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 28-21 to Shiloh. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

Last Friday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the field. Gainesville fell just short of Roswell by a score of 37-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Red Elephants have suffered since October 25, 2024.

Dunwoody will have to contain KHARIM HUGHLEY as he made an impact in Gainesville's last game. He threw for 248 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 36 yards and one TD. Gainesville also got a significant boost from DWIGHT LEWIS, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

The defeat snapped Gainesville's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-2 record. As for Dunwoody, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
