Baseball Recap: Portland Takes a Loss

Portland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Anderson County Mavericks, falling 15-9.

William McGlothlin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cayden Lane, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Portland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Anderson County, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Portland is taking a road trip to square off against Lenoir City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Anderson County, they will take on Halls in a tournament on Friday. The Red Devils will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
