Baseball Recap: Mitchell Bluejackets vs. West Washington Senators
Mitchell had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 8-6 to make it four. They fell 5-1 to the West Washington Senators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejackets of the 13-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
Mitchell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake King, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Dasen Kerr was another, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mitchell will square off against Bedford North Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stars have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for West Washington, they will take on Christian Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
