Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant vs. Texas

Mt. Pleasant will take on Texas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mt. Pleasant is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Hallsville on Friday. The Tigers fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for Mt. Pleasant in their meetings with Hallsville: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Texas faced off against Hallsville on Tuesday. The Tigers came up short against the Bobcats, falling 6-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Texas were already down 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Gyniyiah Lockett, who's now up to two this season.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 10-5-2. As for Texas, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Mt. Pleasant beat Texas 4-2 when the teams last played back in January. Will Mt. Pleasant repeat their success, or does Texas has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
