Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Peyton Yang and Noah Xiong Lead Wheatland to Victory

After losing to Franklin the last time they met, Wheatland decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Yellowjackets 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leading Wheatland to victory were Noah Xiong and Peyton Yang. Xiong had 18 digs and four aces, while Yang had 12 assists and five digs. Those four aces gave Xiong a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Wheatland was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin only served five aces.

Wheatland's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Franklin, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-26.

Wheatland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against River Islands on the 19th. As for Franklin, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Chavez on the 19th.
