Baseball Game Preview: Henderson County Colonels vs. Murray Tigers

The Henderson County Colonels will venture away from home to square off against the Murray Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Henderson County has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Henderson County lost 17-5 to Evansville Harrison on Saturday. The Colonels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Henderson County got a good showing from Christian Haygan, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Hunter Evans was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Cooper Vowels also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Murray). They were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over Edmonson County on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Henderson County's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Murray, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Henderson County suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Murray when the teams last played back in March. Can the Colonels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
