Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Wheeler

Wheeler hadn't done well against Lyman Memorial recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lions skirted past the Bulldogs 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

James Main was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Wheeler pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lyman Memorial, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheeler will take on Plainfield at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lyman Memorial, they will challenge Bolton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
