Basketball Recap: Weaver Takes a Loss

Weaver and Seymour squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Weaver had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Seymour Wildcats 76-30. The Beavers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-9.

Seymour was led to victory by Joey Carrafiello and Robby Carrafiello. Joey dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten rebounds, while Robby almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine assists. Robby is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Shane White, who posted eight points and 11 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Weaver and nudges their season record down to 10-10. As for Seymour, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Weaver does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seymour, they will welcome St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seymour is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62 points per game this season.
