Volleyball Recap: Hopewell Titans vs. West Cabarrus Wolverines
Hopewell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the West Cabarrus Wolverines, falling 3-0.
While Hopewell was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-20.
Laila Johnson paced Hopewell's offense, picking up nine kills. Johnson got some help from Ella McLean and her ten assists. McLean also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Gabby McQueen, racking up two apiece.
West Cabarrus was led to victory by Emmaline Bryant and Mia Javier. Bryant had 18 digs and two aces, while Javier had ten digs and two aces.
