Softball Recap: Jurupa Valley Wins Going Away Against Rubidoux

Jurupa Valley's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Rubidoux Falcons 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Samantha Amancio made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Jurupa Valley let Saytha Sanchez and Emma Enciso-Rios run wild. Sanchez went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two RBI, while Enciso-Rios went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two triples gave Sanchez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Padilla, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Jurupa Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rubidoux only managed eight hits.

Jurupa Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Rubidoux, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Jurupa Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Rubidoux: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
