Soccer Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

If Newport was riding high fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Cascade on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cubs fell just short of the Philomath Warriors by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for Philomath, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Coincidentally, Newport and Philomath will both be playing Sweet Home the next time they take the pitch. The Warriors will host the Huskies at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cubs will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
