Baseball Recap: Beddingfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Eastern Wayne last Thursday, Beddingfield came back down to earth. The Bruins came up short against the Fike Demons on Wednesday, falling 13-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 8-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2016.

Beddingfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamir Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Beddingfield's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Fike, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beddingfield will be taking part in a tournament against North East Carolina Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fike, they will venture away from home to face off against Southern Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Demons are facing the Saints at the right time seeing as the Saints are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
