Basketball Game Preview: Herlong Vikings vs. Plumas Charter Warriors

Herlong hasn't had much luck against Plumas Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Herlong Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Plumas Charter Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Herlong is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Elk Creek to the tune of 93-59 on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Plumas Charter hadn't done well against Loyalton recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Plumas Charter walked away with a 62-52 win over Loyalton. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on five straight.

Herlong better keep an eye on Dalton Bentz. He was instrumental in Plumas Charter's win, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Bentz has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Joseph, who posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Herlong's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-12. As for Plumas Charter, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

Herlong took a serious blow against Plumas Charter in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 101-49. Can Herlong avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
