Baseball Recap: Madison Plains Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Madison Plains and Worthington Christian, and Worthington Christian kept the tradition alive. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Brayden Evans was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Rolfe, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Madison Plains dropped their record down to 14-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Worthington Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

Madison Plains wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 13-8 victory against Greeneview on the 17th. As for Worthington Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-11 win against Bishop Hartley on the 19th.
