Baseball Game Preview: West Carroll War Eagles vs. Gleason Bulldogs

The West Carroll War Eagles will take on the Gleason Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Carroll will be strutting in after a win while Gleason will be coming in after a defeat.

West Carroll is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Humboldt on Monday as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the War Eagles in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won eight in a row.

Sawyer Jackson looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole McMinn, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because West Carroll is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 1-10 otherwise. Mason Taylor was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Gleason's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for West Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.
