Volleyball Recap: Lake Forest Takes a Loss

Lake Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wheeling Wildcats. The Scouts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2019.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Lake Forest sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-18, 18-25, 25-23.

Lake Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Wheeling, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-8.

Coming up, Lake Forest is taking a road trip to challenge Waukegan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wheeling, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Elk Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
