Softball Recap: Owen J. Roberts Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and Owen J. Roberts had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Coatesville Red Raiders with a sharp 8-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Wildcats have won 12 contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maddie Reed made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Owen J. Roberts let Rachel Epps and Gracelyn Przborowski run wild. Epps went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Przborowski went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Przborowski a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacqueline Skonieczny, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

The victory was the third in a row for Owen J. Roberts, bringing their record up to 15-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Coatesville, they moved to 17-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Owen J. Roberts nor the Red Raiders have any future games scheduled.
