Two dominant signal callers in Kaleb Carson and Dylan Reese are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Homewood Patriots will take on the Parker Thundering Herd at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Homewood is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Gardendale: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Patriots blew the Rockets out of the water with a 42-9 final score. The Patriots pushed the score to 35-9 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rockets had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parker). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Minor 70-20. With the Thundering Herd ahead 35-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Homewood better keep an eye on Chancellor Sparks. He was instrumental in Parker's win, rushing for 200 yards and one touchdown while picking up 11.8 yards per carry. Those 200 rushing yards gave Sparks a new career-high. Jeremiah Jackson was another key player, rushing for 60 yards and three scores.

Parker was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 297 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Minor only rushed for 168.

Parker didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Anthony Craig led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Johnny Moody got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Homewood pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.7 points on average over those games. As for Parker, their record now sits at 6-2.

Homewood came up short against Parker when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 27-17. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
