Softball Recap: York County Tech Spartans vs. Bermudian Springs Eagles
York County Tech had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it seven. They lost 12-1 to the Bermudian Springs Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
York County Tech saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Selby, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.
As for Bermudian Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Considering they have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
On Bermudian Springs' side, Camdyn Kittinger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Kittinger has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Bermudian Springs let Katelyn Willow and Autumn Hoffman run wild. Willow went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Hoffman went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Willow has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Autumn Stover, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
York County Tech has already played their next contest, a 22-10 defeat against Delone Catholic on the 13th. As for Bermudian Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-1 victory against Fairfield on the 13th.
