Softball Game Preview: Chico Dragons vs. Saint Jo Panthers

The Chico Dragons are taking a road trip to face off against the Saint Jo Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Chico is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Chico came up short against Gainesville and fell 9-4. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Addyson Sides spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Lexi Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Saint Jo came up short against Era on Monday, falling 16-1. The Panthers have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Chico's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Saint Jo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
