Softball Game Preview: Central Bobcats vs. North Mustangs

Central hasn't had much luck against North recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bobcats will head out to take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Central couldn't beat Metro Tech on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the first inning. The Bobcats lost 16-6 to the Knights. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Adriana Ortiz and Melya Yazzie did some serious damage despite the final result: Ortiz went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Yazzie went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Vianey Beltran, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, North fell victim to McClintock and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Chargers, falling 10-0. The Mustangs have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for North, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Central might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from North when the teams last played back in March. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
