Hamburg and Crossett are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Lions will challenge the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hamburg has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hamburg's offense. They lost 16-0 to Monticello on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled against the Billies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

S Herrera made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

Meanwhile, Crossett had just enough and edged out Star City 8-6 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Braelyn Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caitlyn Lindsey, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Jones, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Hamburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Crossett, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

Hamburg couldn't quite finish off Crossett in their previous meeting two weeks ago and fell 5-3. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
