Baseball Recap: Myrtle Point Wins Going Away Against Eddyville

Myrtle Point never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Eddyville Eagles with a sharp 16-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Evin Warner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Logan Knapp was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Sproul, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Myrtle Point's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Eddyville, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Myrtle Point didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-3 victory against Waldport on the 25th. Eddyville has also already played their next game (against Bandon/Pacific), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
