Baseball Recap: Anahuac Finds Playoff Glory Versus Huntington

With a playoff win on the line, Anahuac rose to the challenge on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Huntington Red Devils 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Red Devils on Saturday, they had to take a 10-1 loss.

Logan Trotter made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Blaedin Josephson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Oscar Garza was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Anahuac's record is now 11-15-1. As for Huntington, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 23-6-1 record.

Anahuac will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Devils: the pair will be back at it again later today.
