Preview: Foard Tigers vs. Hickory Red Tornadoes

Foard is 2-8 against Hickory since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Foard Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Hickory Red Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Foard is ranked 176th, while Hickory is ranked 172nd).
While Foard couldn't quite beat North Lincoln on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 30-point loss they were dealt on Tuesday. Foard fell just short of North Lincoln by a score of 47-44. Foard has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Hickory's strategy against West Iredell on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Hickory blew West Iredell out of the water with a 54-13 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Hickory had established a 40 point advantage.
Foard's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Hickory, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
Foard didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Hickory when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 67-61 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foard since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
