Soccer Recap: Stafford Takes a Loss

Stafford came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-0 to the Mountain View Wildcats. While losing is never fun, Stafford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Mountain View are ranked 93rd).

Stafford dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Stafford will welcome Colonial Forge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colonial Forge will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last. As for Mountain View, they will venture away from home to square off against Massaponax at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View are facing Massaponax at the right time seeing as Massaponax are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
