While Marion's win against Carbondale wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Terriers on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marion has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Carbondale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Marion will have a chance to go back-to-back against Carbondale: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
