Softball Recap: Paint Valley Comes Up Short

Paint Valley lost against Westfall back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bearcats fell 6-2 to the Mustangs. The contest marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Paint Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Stauffer, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Stauffer is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Paint Valley and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Westfall, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Paint Valley will challenge rival Adena at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Westfall is set to square off against their familiar foe Piketon at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
