It was a good run, but Metlakatla unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to the Mt. Edgecumbe Braves 42-38. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Metlakatla's loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Mt. Edgecumbe, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Metlakatla does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Edgecumbe, they and Ketchikan will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Mt. Edgecumbe is facing Ketchikan at the right time seeing as Ketchikan is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
