Baseball Recap: Meadowbrook Takes a Loss

Meadowbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-6 to the Hopewell Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Nick Vaughan was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Meadowbrook is 3-1 when Vaughan posts two or more runs, but 1-10 otherwise. Devon Harris was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meadowbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Hopewell, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5.

Coming up, Meadowbrook will challenge John Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Monarchs are facing the Justices at the right time seeing as the Justices are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Hopewell, they will host Matoaca at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
