Basketball Recap: West Florida's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Pace wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played West Florida, they should've done a better job of containing Amani Bartholomew. The West Florida Jaguars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pace Patriots on Saturday, sneaking past 47-45 thanks in part to Bartholomew, who went 9 for 15 on her way to 25 points and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of West Florida's points.

Despite the loss, Pace saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maddie Wise went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wise has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Manor, who posted 14 points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for West Florida and bumps their season record up to 10-7. As for Pace, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

West Florida didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-40 win against Pine Forest on the 6th. As for Pace, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-35 victory against Navarre on the 7th.
