Football Recap: Williston-Elko Comes Up Short

Williston-Elko extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They took a blow against the Fox Creek Predators, falling 55-8. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 42-14 to the Predators when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Fox Creek, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.6 points on average this season.

Bryson Crawford had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 217 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Crawford is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Wallace, who rushed for 77 yards and a pair of scores.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williston-Elko will host Calhoun County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Blue Devils' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Fox Creek, they will welcome Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Predators 7.6, the Bruins 2.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
