Soccer Game Preview: Ceiba College Preparatory Academy vs. Carmel

Ceiba College Preparatory Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Monte Vista Christian a 1-0 shutout. The Spartans wouldn't have won without Andres Martell Maravilla, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Carmel waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They had just enough and edged the Spartans out 1-0. The Padres' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Carmel pushed their record up to 6-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three contests. As for Ceiba College Preparatory Academy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 2-7-1.
