Baseball Recap: Three Straight Road Victories for Apollo

Apollo's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Union County Braves. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jagger Pate, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Gunnar Hendricks was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Apollo pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Union County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Apollo will venture away from home to challenge Warren East at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Union County, they will challenge Crittenden County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
