Softball Game Preview: Lake Braddock Bruins vs. James Madison Warhawks

The Lake Braddock Bruins will head out on the road to square off against the James Madison Warhawks on Tuesday. The last three games Lake Braddock has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lake Braddock heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-11 to South County, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, James Madison faced McLean in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Warhawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Highlanders, sneaking past 3-2. The Warhawks are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 12 straight.

James Madison pushed their record up to 25-2 with the victory, which was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Lake Braddock, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.

Lake Braddock couldn't quite get it done against James Madison when the teams last played back in June of 2022 as they fell 6-1. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
