Recap: Wakefield Bombers vs. Centre Cougars

The Wakefield Bombers's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They strolled past Centre with points to spare, taking the game 40-22. The win was just what Wakefield needed coming off of a 52-20 loss in their prior game.

Allison Adams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Huehl, who scored eight points along with two steals.

When it comes to explaining why Centre lost, one person who can't be blamed is Olivia Carlson. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Wakefield's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Centre, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Wakefield won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Douglass at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Douglass is ranked 293rd, while Wakefield is ranked 313th). As for Centre, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rural Vista [Hope/White City] at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Rural Vista [Hope/White City] focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
