Recap: Lake Howell Silver Hawks vs. Winter Springs Bears
The Lake Howell Silver Hawks''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 62-10 victory over Winter Springs. That's another feather in the cap for Lake Howell, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Among those leading the charge was Dylan Edwards, who rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Edwards was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Malek Wilkerson was another key contributor, rushing for 59 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Lake Howell's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Daniel Burson and his two sacks.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carlos Carmoega, who rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown.
Lake Howell has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Winter Springs, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Lake Howell will look to defend their home field on Friday against East River at 7:00 p.m. As for Winter Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Oviedo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oviedo is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
