 The Emery Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Manti Templars at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday. Emery is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.8  runs per game this season.
 It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Emery ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Manti out  8-7. The  win was just what Emery needed coming off of  an  11-1 defeat in their prior  match.
  Wade Stilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  tossed 1.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Stilson was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kade Larsen, who  went 4-for-4 with three  RBI and two  doubles.  Mason Stilson was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Emery pushed their record up to 10-6 with that  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Manti, they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 8-4.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Emery has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.6  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Manti struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 6.8.
