Basketball Recap: Southeast Whitfield County Comes Up Short

If Southeast Whitfield County was riding high fresh off their 57-23 takedown of Woodland on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Southeast Whitfield County Raiders were outmatched by the Cartersville Hurricanes and fell 73-28. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 119th).

Kaytlin Arnold had a dynamite game for Cartersville, almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Arnold has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zoie Shiflett, who posted seven points and five steals.

Southeast Whitfield County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Cartersville, they pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

As of now, neither Southeast Whitfield County nor Cartersville have any future games scheduled.
