The Cypress Centurions will square off against the Whittier Christian Heralds at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Cypress 2.9, Whittier Christian 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Cypress is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Central Catholic 12-3 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Centurions, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Sadie Sievers, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Hayden Haney was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Cypress hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Catholic struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Whittier Christian waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Heralds have posted since February 19th.
Bella Perez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mia Camacho, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Whittier Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cypress, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.
Whittier Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Cypress has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Whittier Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Cypress keep running through batters, or will Whittier Christian buck the trend?
Cypress couldn't quite get it done against Whittier Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can Cypress avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
