Basketball Game Preview: Fletcher Senators vs. Nease Panthers

Fletcher is 0-9 against Nease since December of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Fletcher Senators will head out on the road to take on the Nease Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Fletcher's tournament run continued when they took on Ridgeview last Saturday. Fletcher received a blow as they fell 50-32 to Ridgeview. The Senators were down 40-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brylee Rains, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Wiley Crenshaw, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, Nease didn't have quite enough to beat Ponte Vedra on Saturday and fell 39-37. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now lost four in a row.

Nease now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Fletcher, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Fletcher suffered a grim 52-27 defeat to Nease when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Fletcher, Shruthika Kondabrolu (who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
