The Tonopah Valley Phoenix scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down River Valley 86-68. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Tonopah Valley has managed all season.
Tonopah Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xavier Valentine, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Lars Durham, who scored 14 points.
Tonopah Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for River Valley, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tonopah Valley will take on American Leadership Academy - West Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. American Leadership Academy - West Foothills is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for River Valley, they will be playing at home against Yuma Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Yuma Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully River Valley likes a good challenge.
