Athens Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with nine straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Madison County Red Raiders by a score of 2-0. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Raiders, too.

Athens Academy never let Madison County on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 26-24.

Dyllan Adams paced Athens Academy's offense, picking up four kills. Adams got some help from Lucy Wages and her 12 assists. Wages was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Athens Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Madison County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-14 record.

Coming up, Athens Academy will square off against Rabun County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison County, they will take on East Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
