Baseball Recap: Firestone Has No Trouble Against Ellet

Firestone hadn't done well against Ellet recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Falcons blew past the Orangemen 13-4. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Luke Rhamy looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Firestone is undefeated when Rhamy allows one or fewer earned runs, but 1-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Blake Harris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Malcolm Bufford was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Firestone always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Firestone now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Ellet, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Firestone will take on Stow-Munroe Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ellet, they will square off against Crestwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
