Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Leland

Leland hadn't done well against Frankfort recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Leland Comets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Frankfort Panthers, sneaking past 52-49. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Comets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 610th, while the Panthers are ranked 291st).

The win made it two in a row for Leland and bumps their season record up to 3-18. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. As for Frankfort, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

Coming up, Leland will take on St. Mary in a tournament on Wednesday. Leland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Frankfort does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
