Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian Takes a Loss

Liberty Christian lost against John Paul II back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warriors took an 80-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Liberty Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Patrick Jameson shot 57% from the field to rack up 23 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jameson has scored all season. Cash McCoart was another key player, going 7-for-16 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and five boards.

Liberty Christian now has a losing record of 4-5. As for John Paul II, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Liberty Christian will be taking part in a tournament against Denison at 11:00 a.m. on December 4. As for John Paul II, they will square off against South Oak Cliff at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 66 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
