The home team had won the previous four meetings between Hamilton and Colerain, and Hamilton kept the tradition alive. The Big Blue came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 4-1 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Big Blue, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Asher Roy tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Hamilton's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Warner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Warner has posted since back in April. Another was Sammy Platt, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hamilton's record is now 7-12. As for Colerain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Hamilton and Colerain could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Big Blue (ranked 313th) will meet Turpin (ranked 39th) at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Colerain will face off against Elder at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (510 vs. 25).
