Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Jourdanton

Jourdanton waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cotulla Cowboys 53-25. Given the Indians/Squaws' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Cowboys are ranked 1455th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jourdanton has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Cotulla, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Jourdanton will host Dilley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Jourdanton's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home while Dilley has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. As for Cotulla, they will venture away from home to face off against Hondo at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hondo will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Cotulla surely won't give up without a fight.
