Volleyball Recap: Alyssa Mandersheid and Michelle Brumley Secure Win for Bethlehem Christian Academy

Bethlehem Christian Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Discovery Titans. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Bethlehem Christian Academy was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-12, 25-10.

Leading Bethlehem Christian Academy to victory were Michelle Brumley and Alyssa Mandersheid. Brumley had 22 digs and two aces, while Mandersheid had seven digs and two aces. Brumley is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Bethlehem Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Discovery lost, don't look at Christelle Monzer. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Scarlett Cribb, who had 11 digs and four assists.

Bethlehem Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 20-9. As for Discovery, they dropped their record down to 8-22 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Bethlehem Christian Academy will face off against St. Andrew's at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Discovery, they will venture away from home to take on Collins Hill at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
