The Rock Port Blue Jays will take on the Auburn Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Port is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 13 games.
Rock Port lost a heartbreaker the last time they played South Holt, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Blue Jays put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 14-5 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Jays, who have now won eight contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Corbyn Jakub made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Westyn Amthor, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Tayden Cook was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Auburn was able to grind out a solid victory over Fairbury on Monday, taking the game 7-2. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Jeffs: they've now won four in a row.
Logan Sierks was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Auburn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Rock Port pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Auburn, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rock Port has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Auburn struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
